Hi!

 

My name is Mary Maraist. I'm originally from a small town north of Chicago Illinois, and moved to Nebraska to pursue graduate school in 2019. However after 2 out of 4 years, I decided to leave graduate school and focus on my life long passion for art!

I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Augustana College in Rock Island Illinois, with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and art (with a concentration in photography). I spent my limited free time in our college's women's choir, re-vitalizing our photography club, and touring prospective students and their families around campus with our admissions office.

Of course, I have my family to thank for where I am now. As an occupational therapist and Program Director for Main Stay Therapeutic Farm for over 20 years, my mom fostered my love of all creatures great and small, as well as a profound respect for working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. My dad is the founder of Worldview Productions Ltd., a four-time Emmy winner with a passion for educating and inspiring through video, and the reason I love photography. And my younger sister has always been there to keep me on my toes!

I've lived in Nebraska since 2019 and currently reside in Omaha with my fiancé, and our cat and dog. Omaha surprised me with a wonderful array of people, food, and exciting things to do, and I can't wait to spend more time getting to know Nebraska- and you!
